Saudi Swamp is Back

Jun 21, 2009 by James Arnold Nogra , under , ,

Torrential rains brings back the lost saudi swamp behind our house (Saudi Village, Tangke I, Naga). The swamp is almost dry the whole year especially summer. This year, it has been filled with water even though summer is not yet over (I think so).

Source of Power (Salcon Power Corporation and KEPCO)

by James Arnold Nogra , under ,

This is where most of the electric power of the Province of Cebu comes from. If this powerplant fails, almost whole province will suffer from power outage. Our house is just a kilometer away from this monster. I could actually hear the power turbines roaring together with my PC speakers. I'm already used to the noise of this powerplant.

Old Naga, Cebu Map From Google Earth

This is an old satellite image of the town of Naga, Cebu. As you can see, Tthe famous 'Baywalk' is not yet there, the new 'City Hall' is not also there, and the paint of the roof of the church is still blue (cross shaped roof near the center of this image). Also, in this map, the construction of Naga Public Market (near the large empty lot at the upper left of this image) has just started. Because of this map, I noticed that Naga Central Elementary School (the empty lot with oval at the upper left of this image) takes a very large space in the Municipality of Naga.

About the Logo of this Blog

by James Arnold Nogra , under

The main attraction of this logo is the lightning. Well, actually, it's not lightning, it's a letter 'N' shaped like a lightning which is obviously the initial letter of the word 'Naga'. The red background stands for bravery just like the red portion of the Philippine Flag. Please feel free to comment in this post.
